Lucas loses a calf and suspects a neighbor's foreman. As it's already been branded, he's threatened with rustling if he uses a rope. McCain has another way of cutting the newborn out of the herd, and he doesn't need a rope or his rifle.

Storyline

After one of Lucas McCain's cows calves, the little one is missing and he and Mark trace the missing calf to the Ashfford ranch, run by the foreman Norv Waggoner who has been building up his own herd. There have been rumors about Waggoner's herd growing a bit too fast but Jeremy Ashford, the owner's brother, isn't prepared to stand up to him. It's left to Lucas to find the calf they stole and face Waggoner and his men. Written by garykmcd
