Good acting and a simple plot makes a good show
14 July 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

At the beginning of the episode, Lucas and Mark come up on two men stealing horses at the stable. Mark runs to get Micah but before the Marshall can arrive one of the men fires at Lucas. Lucas returns fire killing one of the men while the other gets away running down an alley.

Turns out the man killed was one of the Boyle's Klan. They are mountain people that have their own outback justice. Micah has experience them before and knows it will not be long until the entire Klan will be in North Fork causing problems.

And sure enough, a day later Ma Boyle and her boys arrive in town with a rope to hang the person responsible for the death of the family member. And it will be up to Lucas, with the help from Mark, to face up to the mountain justice that the Boyle family demands.

With good acting and a simple plot this turns out to be very entertaining. Dee J Thompson does a good job of playing the head-of-the-family, Ma Boyle, that has hatred flowing out every pore of her body. And as always the Rifleman leaves us with a good moral story that will have the viewer feeling better for watching.
