Storyline

It seems to be the end of the line for the Jackman clan after their farm is put up for sale to pay back taxes. It's clear they weren't cut out for farming and go off to Paradise, a nearby town. They arrive to find that the position of town Marshal is vacant and family patriarch Nebeneezert takes the job and deputizes his three sons. They soon realize just what they've got themselves into when they see that all of the badges have bullet holes in them. When bank robbers come to town, Lucas helps them keep the peace. A comedy of many errors.

Right from the beginning of the episode the feeling was that this show was going to be a dud. Sure enough, this episode proved true. Peter Whitney, who always does a nice job playing rough type characters, is miscast as a bumbling father with buffoonish sons that happens into a town needing a sheriff. So the father volunteers his services and his stupid sons to serve as sheriff(s) thinking it will be an easy job.

However there has been a prison escape and the criminals just so happen ride into the town that is protected by clownish family. The dunce family believes the criminals are sent to help protect the bank from being robbed.

This was a harsh episode to watch. The writers made the family so daffy that the viewer could not take the show seriously. It was like watching a show design by an eight year old rather than adult western drama writers. It just was not funny. How they got Leo Gordon, a renown western actor, to play in this tragic episode is beyond belief.
