Did You Know?

[Lucas rebuffs Micah's offer to serve as an undercover detective]
Marshal Micah Torrance: Lucas, you never liked being called "sodbuster" did you?
Lucas McCain: I still don't.
Marshal Micah Torrance: You better get used to it, 'cause that's what you're gonna be.
Lucas McCain: What do you mean, Micah?
Marshal Micah Torrance: A cattleman without cattle is just a plain sodbuster. If I was you, I'd give this job a little thought.

Lucas plays a villain and does really well!
20 February 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Things go bad in North Fork as Hoof and Mouth disease invades the territory. This causes havoc in the small town and sends people looking for a new homes when all their cattle has to be killed. Lucas and Mark are also in trouble and it looks like they may have to leave North Fork and look for a place to start a new life.

However, Micah has a job for Lucas that will have him play an outlaw in a Wyoming town in order to apprehend criminals that are stealing guns from the government and selling to the local Indians.

Everything works fine until a local drunk happens to read a letter stating that Lucas is really working for the local Sheriff and just cannot keep the information to himself. Instead of setting up the bandits, the bandit will be setting up Lucas.

Since this is a two part story, this episode is mainly a set-up for the entire plot. North Fork is in trouble, Lucas has been betrayed and Lucas and Mark are separated- there is much going on in this story. This episode wets the palate that will continue in part two. Good watch.
