Storyline

Al Walker, a notorious gunfighter, has come to North Fork to die. He has an incurable illness and, since he had once been a wealthy and prominent lawyer, believes he owes it to his family to have his death certificate read "natural causes" instead of "killed in gunfight". However, the Porter brothers--a gang of vicious killers and bank robbers--have followed him to town and plan to take their revenge on Walker for killing their brother, and they'll stop at nothing and no one in order to do it. THE RIFLEMAN – The Blowout – 1959

In this episode big time gunfighter John Dehner hits town of North Fork. He has a bag full of cash and starts buying drinks for all. Soon afterwards, three outlaw brothers, Howard Ledig, John Milford and George Brenlin also hit town. They are less than amused with the aforementioned Dehner.

It seems the brothers had robbed a bank with a fourth brother sometime before. The fourth brother had had the bad luck to run into Dehner during the getaway. Dehner had dispatched him and taken the cash. The three are now here to reclaim said cash.

Dehner is calmly sitting in the saloon sipping whiskey. He knows the three are here to kill him and he does not care. He has cancer and knows he has only weeks at most to live. He hopes to get a clean death in a shootout over a slow painful one.

The Rifleman, Chuck Connors, gets involved because the town Sheriff, Paul Fix, is out of town. Connors is forced to step up when the three outlaw brothers try to burn down the town in their attempt to retrieve their ill-gotten gains from Dehner.

Guns blaze with the three outlaws succumbing to a severe lead overdose while Dehner gets his wish of quick death.

Quick no nonsense duster with plenty of violence.
