Jake and Fay Owens are newcomers to North Fork. Marshal Micah Torrance knows Jake, now a former lawman, and thinks the couple will make a good addition to the community. Lucas isn't so sure, having already had a run-in with him when he and Mark stopped by the Owens ranch to say hello. It's obvious that Jake is a jealous man who assumes the worse when anyone goes near his attractive wife. Trouble is in the offing when one of Fay Owens' former beaus, Andy Travis, comes to town seeking revenge against Jake and puts Lucas right in the middle of it. Written by garykmcd

Lucas is right in the middle of a jealous man's problems.
13 March 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

When a retired lawman and friend of Micah, Jake Owens, buys a house in town it seems that the new member of the community has a chip on his shoulder. For some reason when anyone talks with his wife, Fay, he thinks they are flirting with her. When Lucas helps the lady pick up some dropped boxes, Jake becomes upset and even threatens Lucas if he ever talks to his wife again. Micah is even stunned since he never saw Jake act like that to others or his wife.

There are also two slimy characters, Andy and Simms, in town that wish to see Jake Owens dead. But when they find out that Jake is such a jealous man they start a rumor that Fay and Lucas are seeing each other. When Jake finds out about about the rumor he takes off after Lucas. Andy and Simms are hoping that Lucas will do the dirty work for them.

There really is nothing surprising about this episode but it was an entertaining watch in the quick thirty minute format. The best thing about this episode was Chuck Connors and the way he handled the uneasy situation in his usual fine way. Another nice show.
