Storyline

After Lucas McCain finds a wounded man on the side of the road, he naturally delivers him to Doc Burrage for treatment. The man is near death and has no identification on him but Marshal Micah Torrance knows exactly who he is and wishes him dead. Micah says he's John Stoddard, someone he knew long ago. Micah uncharacteristically takes to the bottle and refuses to come out of his office, even when a vigilante committee from a town 100 miles away come to collect Stoddard to hang him for crimes he committed while there. It's left to Lucas to sort it all out and also to find out why Micah hates the man to the point of wanting him dead. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

Physicians of this era were not transfusing blood; it had been experimented with by researchers. Results were so poor they started trying transfusing milk from cows, goats, and even humans. Again results were very poor. The main reason transfusions didn't work in these days was that blood types had yet to be discovered. The discovery of the first three human blood groups wasn't until 1901; but saving lives with transfusions was a regular thing until just before World War II. See more »

A wounded man makes Micah return to the bottle.
13 July 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode turned out much better than expected. It all begins when Lucas finds a badly wounded man and takes him to Doc Burrage (this time played by Rhys Williams). When Micah looks at the man he claims that he does not know him but the viewer can tell that Micah and the man has a history.

When some so-called lawmen come into North Fork to capture a wanted man they find the man, John Stoddard, is the same person that Lucas found wounded. The three renegade lawmen want Stoddard immediately but has to be handily told by Lucas that they will have to wait. Along the way we will find out why Micah feels so much hatred for Stoddard. Whatever the reason, it makes Micah return to the bottle that nearly killed him.

Was not expecting too much from this storyline. However was very pleased at the results. A nice story that was backed-up with good acting. Good watch.
