When two of those men come to North Fork, they decide that Mark will do nicely as Wingate's long lost son and wire him to come to North Fork. Convinced that Mark is his long lost boy, Wingate tells Lucas that he will take him to court to get custody. Heartwarming episode.
8 February 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode begins as Aaron Wingate (Royal Dano)and his two detectives arrive at the McCain ranch claiming that Mark is his long lost son. It seems that Mr Wingate and his son was in a riverboat explosion and his son's body was never recovered and he believes that his son may still be alive. Wingate makes these claim and even says that he will take the matter to court in order to get his son back. But before leaving Mr Wingate collapses and has to stay at the McCain farm for the evening.

The two uncanny detective, that will not get paid until the son is officially returned, think of a scheme where Wingate can claim the boy without going to court. But this scheme is not the way Wingate wanted the matter to be solved.

This is another script that is a classic 'Rifleman' episode. A heartwarming show that features the love between a father and son in more ways than one. A pleasure to watch.
