Rescue Me is one of the best shows on TV. Everyone on the show is flawed, no-one is perfect and there is a lot of black humour. The show slaps you in the face with tragedy,(i.e. Connor's death) and the plot twists are full of great irony. Denis Leary nailed the part of Tommy Gavin, the flawed hero. I spent some time myself as a volunteer firefighter and I can relate to his and the other firefighters characters. Jack McGee is great as Chief Reilly, he adds realism to the part since he was a FDNY member. My favorite episode was the Sanctuary episode in season 1 when Tommy and crew played hockey against NYPD I hope to see more of Cam Neely (Mungo)next season.
