I remember seeing this on telly when I was about 8 or 9. There wasn't even proper kids TV in those days, so they often put creaky British films on from the 50's, mainly about detectives rushing round in Jags that went "DDLLLLIIIINNG! DDLLLINNG!" It's nearly 40 years then, but I remember there was a bus crash, and the cast all had to walk along a hideous road - the road between life and death. Gosh! At the beginning, someone said, one of you will die, another will go mad, one will drive the bus, and the other will get back safely. I was gripped...
Needless to say it was the girl who got back safely, at the very end, by walking back into the scene of the crash! A guy called Peters (not Peter as it says here) went mad, and Rogers (not Roger) died (Lionel Jeffries as I now see!) - I might have those two the wrong way round. Some B-movie square jaw (whom I now know to be Leslie Dwyer) drove the bus.
I'd give anything to see this again. It really made an impression on a young kid one winter's day a long time ago in the north of England.
