Trivia

In the 1779 prologue, Captain James Cook's men fight a village of Hawaiians who worship Lono. This is all true history; Cook visited the village twice. The first visit was peaceful, but on the second, quarrels broke out between Cook's men and the natives. Cook was killed and the Hawaiians buried him. See more »

Goofs

According to Tony, Captain Cook's ship, the HMS Resolution, sailed for London in December 1779. Cook was killed in February 1779, after which the Resolution and the Discovery unsuccessfully attempted to pass through the Bering Strait and returned to Petropavlovsk, Russia, where Cook's successor then died on 22 August 1779. The ships did not return home until October 1780. See more »

Jet-lagged in Madagascar
21 April 2014 | by (Hamburg, Germany) – See all my reviews

A kind of fertility idol is taken from a tribe in Hawaii. Two centuries later, Sydney's friend Tony (Steven Bauer) thinks he knows where the lost idol is. Sydney and Nigel, after Tony finally convinced them, go on a voyage to Madagaskar. The funny thing about Madagascar is that it looks exactly the same as Hawaii, which makes the filming of this episode cheaper (just kidding). The people they meet on Madagascar Island are „a little bit odd", though, as bar owner Fletcher warns Sydney, and he is putting it mildly. Thus, the search does not become a piece of cake...

Average episode. The story is too simple, but the funny dialogs and guest characters make it entertaining. When Sydney beats up some bad guys in 10 seconds, Tony wonders: „Is she always that athletic?", and Nigel replies: „She normally doesn't take that long, she must be jet-lagged."
