Trivia

Skelton played his tipsy character WILLIE LUMP LUMP in a sketch prior to the Look Magazine Awards Show. Eva Marie Saint was in the hospital awaiting the birth of a child and did not appear in person. Her award for Best Supporting Actress was accepted by Lucy Marlow. The David Rose Orchestra and singer Louise O'Brien performed a medley of Irving Berlin songs from 'White Christmas.' In the tenor of the times, Best Actress recipient Judy Garland, who was pregnant, suddenly appeared for her award with the podium hiding her condition, although it was mentioned. See more »
