"Angry Town" literally begins with a bang, the sheriff going down from a shot fired by Johnny Yuma! As it turns out, the town itself is a lawless one, everyone fearing the now dead sheriff and his evil brother Flint (Ron Soble, later seen in "To See the Elephant"), with the lawyer (Jack Elam, later seen in "Helping Hand") making a special pitch to Yuma to become the new sheriff. His refusal, plus the arrival of Flint, results in everyone shunning Johnny, even his account at the bank is denied, and without food or supplies he cannot leave. As defiant as ever, he stands up to Flint and his henchmen, and inspires the town's youngest citizen to rally others to the cause. Both Jack Elam and Ian MacDonald (his final role, previously seen in the pilot) were veterans of the 1952 classic "High Noon," which is echoed somewhat in the town's refusal to assist Johnny Yuma (Perry Cook would return for "Night on a Rainbow").
