Bill Maher's attitude toward Woody Harrelson's drug use crossed a line. His comparison of the photos of Woody Harrelson's marijuana use trivializes Harrelson's effort to quit. Obviously, Woody has a problem with marijuana, which explains why he quit smoking 1-1/2 years ago. Maher's comparison of Harrelson's photos when he was still smoking (laughing, smiling) and after he quit (serious, somber) were intended as a joke, but it was an incredible cheap shot, and trivialized Harrelson's effort to quit the drug. Would he have done the same with someone who's a recovering alcoholic? I doubt it. It was a bullshit skit with cherry-picked photos that obviously made Harrelson uncomfortable. It seemed Maher was trying to shame Harrelson into smoking again.
I usually agree with Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" attitude, but this was the most inappropriate, inconsiderate interview I've ever seen. Maher was a complete asshole.
