A curse on the drovers
bkoganbing6 August 2016
The drovers led by Clint Eastwood come into a town all boarded up just when they're looking to unwind. One of them decides to play a little music with his revolver on the church bell with his pistol and Clint joins him. Unfortunately one of their bullets ricocheted and hit a man killing him.

Not that too many people are uptight as it happens the deceased was a member of a gang of outlaw brothers and sheriff Ray Teal is hardly going to press charges. But he does say that Eastwood and the rest should get out of town yesterday before the three brothers return.

There's a fourth brother who happens to be the parson of the church played by Dan Duryea. He pronounces a death curse on whoever fired the fatal shot be it Eastwood or Warren Oates the drover who started the concert on the bell. Duryea follows the herd to see if his curse comes true.

Oates is a happy go lucky sort, but this whole curse business really unnerves him.

This was one of the weirder Rawhide episodes done and the conclusion is a strange one. But Oates and Duryea do well in their guest star roles.
