Too much Tyson and too much monotony

Live from Davis, CA

Ken Shamrock Vs Mark Henry

Shamrock has Ahmed Johnson and The DOA for backup. Shamrock wins by DQ after The Nation interferes. The highlight of this match was Shamrock delivering a belly to belly suplex to Henry. Incredible strength.

*1/4 out of 5

The Legion of Doom Vs Jeff Jarrett & Barry Windham

Jarrett and Windham win after Windham nails Animal with a loaded tennis racket. This is a joke. See, not everything in the attitude era was gold, boys.

3/4* out of 5

DX cuts a VERY long promo backstage with their typical stuff. Shawn Michaels says Steve Austin should face Mike Tyson at Wrestlemania and he can referee.

Vaderdust Vs Vader

Vader has the match won, but Kane comes out and challenges Kane. Vader initially gets the best of him and delivers a piledriver to Kane. Kane no-sells it and tombstones Vader. Good stuff here to make Kane strong. Poor Vader, though.

* out of 5

Mick Foley and Terry Funk discuss their match with the New Age Outlaws before Raw.

Tag Team Titles

Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie Vs The New Age Outlaws (C)

The match ends in complete chaos. Terry Funk delivers a moonsault to Road Dog with a bunch of chairs placed on him. Well, that was silly.

*1/2 out of 5

Brian Christopher Vs El Pantera

El Pantera wins with a roll-up. Jerry Lawler fools Pantera into a handshake after and ends up punching him. This was an OK match. Christopher is good comedic foil.

*3/4 out of 5

Degeneration X sets up Cactus Jack and Terry Funk for an ambush backstage.

The Headbangers Vs The Quebecers

The Headbangers win, but The Quebecers get the last laugh by attacking them after the match. Not much more to it than that. The Quebecers were used pretty poorly in their final run with the WWF.

European Championship

Triple H (C) Vs Owen Hart

It turns out, "Hunterdust" is taking Triple H's place.

Owen Hart Vs Goldust

Owen Hart wins with the Sharpshooter. Triple H taunts Owen Hart from the titantron and laughs about how he fooled Owen Hart. Sgt. Slaughter comes out and awards the belt to Owen. This reeks of Triple H politicking. And people wonder why I can't stand him? Nice moment for Owen, though.

Don King talks a lot of gibberish and basically says Mike Tyson will be at Wrestlemania

Steve Austin comes out. He says last week really angered him. And Mike Tyson will find out first hand you don't mess with Steve Austin. He says He'll whip Mike Tyson's ass in his backyard, his own backyard, and anybody else's backyard. He says he'll knock his gold tooth out and make it into a necklace. He invites Mike Tyson to In Your House: No Way Out and he'll knock his ass out. Good way to get people to buy the PPV and a fun promo from Austin as always.

Eh, this show wasn't all that. Most of it was filler and non-stop clips of Mike Tyson. They promoted him very heavily here and it got annoying on more than one occasion. I understand it, though. They kept building to Tyson vs Austin which never came.

5/10
