Very preachy but still quite good--though the first half was significantly better.
The show begins with some stupid teens getting drunk and going joyriding. There is a crash and soon one of them is in the morgue. Coincidentally, the surviving person from the car turns out to be Asten's niece! When he visits her in the hospital, she's in denial that she's an alcoholic--though by 17 she clearly is. Here is the problem--the coroner's office now has to determine which one of the pair was driving--the niece or her boyfriend. And, if she was driving, there will be serious charges against her. What's to become of this rather unlikable young lady?
The first portion of the show is very compelling, as teen drinking is a serious problem and too often shows focus only on drug (non-alcohol) abuse. And, although I predicted it, I did appreciate the niece's story. But, towards the end, the show became very, very preachy--too preachy. In fact, this really slowed down the show and derailed the story. Still, worth seeing despite this.
