Among the very best...
6 April 2013 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This episode of "Quincy" is exceptional. The story is quite taut and the science behind it fascinating and cutting edge. An 18 year-old is kidnapped, bound and placed in the hole in the ground with an oxygen mask. The kidnapper's plan is to collect the ransom and let the family know where the young man is. But, some bumbling local cop blunders into the money exchange and the kidnapper runs--and eventually is killed in a car wreck while trying to escape. But, with no way to know exactly where the boy is, Sam and Quincy need to use all their skills and the expertise of others to gather clues from the body and the car he drove to narrow down the search for the victim.

Unlike the average episode of the show, this one is much more scientific in nature. It also features a lot of cutting edge scientific and forensic work--stuff that only recently has become common in the field. Plus, there were no 'Perry Mason moments' when evil people blurt out the truth or such silliness. Taut, well-written and exciting from start to finish--this is definitely among the best episodes of the series.
