Storyline

Quincy and his girlfriend Barbara are driving up the coast on vacation when they are nearly run off the road by a young woman who is driving very erratically. She drives off the road and when Quince arrives at the wreck he discovers that she is dead. When Quincy performs the autopsy on her, he discovers that she died as a result of internal bleeding despite the fact that the wreck wasn't that serious. The next day, a police officer, who was inspecting the car, dies of apparently the same thing the woman did. However, things really become personal for Quincy when Sam is also stricken. Now he must find out what it is about the car that is killing people or else Sam will suffer the same fate. Written by Brian Washington <Sargebri@att.net>

Trivia

Because Sam, usually the lab technician, was out of commission, a fill-in lab technician was needed and the producers asked Marc Scott Taylor, who was the show's technical adviser for laboratory scenes and forensic work (sort of the forerunner to the CSI scientists - Taylor himself was one), to fill in. He wrote his only line, an incredibly complicated discussion using words like "oscillation, "nanometers" and "proteinacious." Then he found out how hard it was to say that on camera. "My voice was a squeak ... but I loved it!" he said later. The producers decided to make Taylor a semi-regular and sometimes gave him important parts. See more »

Really good up until the snake scene.
17 April 2013 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This is yet another episode which clearly illustrates that Dr. Quincy should NEVER go on vacation. In several previous shows, when Quincy went on a trip, bad, very bad things occurred--usually it meant someone dying. Now, once again, he is going off with a hot babe (how does a coroner who looks like Jack Klugman always get such beautiful women?!?!)--and, wouldn't you know it, on the way there he witnesses a traffic death. Instead of continuing on to his vacation, he takes the body back to work and performs the autopsy. So then does he go on the vacation? Nope--because WHY she was driving so erratically and why she died is a mystery. And, to further complicate things, a police officer and Sam soon become sick after coming in contact with the wrecked vehicle--and the cop dies! So, it's a race against time to figure out the source of all this--and save poor Sam!

For the most part, this is a very good episode. However, near the end be forewarned--there are snakes! Some folks don't like seeing snakes but my problem with the snakes had nothing to do with a phobia--it is how STUPID the scene becomes where Quincy starts waving a rattlesnake about the lab!! Seriously. You just have to see this bizarre (and dumb) scene to believe it. But, bear with it--it's still a decent episode and I liked seeing Quincy run amok at the very end! Worth seeing.
