The body of a tough-guy loan shark is found brutally murdered on the docks. A young loner is falsely accused of the crime, but accepts the blame because he's made to look like a hero in front of his co-workers. Quincy eventually realizes the boy is innocent, but has a hard time convincing him to retract his confession due to the sudden hero-status bequeathed on him. Quincy must defend him in court to prove his innocence, despite the fact that the defendant does not wish to be defended. Written by
