Storyline

After a courier van crashes into a gas station, Quincy declares that the driver died. But when the victim's sister starts getting odd calls that sound like they're coming from the dead man, Quincy decides that the driver was blown clear of the crash and is now wandering around somewhere, injured and disoriented. The courier company owner and the "dead" man's mother, however, support the initial determination. They want further investigation shut down, and it's up to Quincy to find out why, and more importantly, to find the driver before he dies for real. Written by TychaBrahe

Goofs

Quincy spends the whole episode trying to locate an injured person who occasionally calls his sister. For some reason it never occurs to him to get the police to contact the phone company and request a list of all calls to the sister's phone. It would have been relatively easy, and much quicker, to locate him. See more »

Decent "Quincy" episode.

"Dead and Alive" begins with some courier taking a package from two drug dealers. However, soon after, the courier's van explodes and then careens into a gas station--and a HUGE explosion results. It clearly appears as if the courier is dead. And, after a forensic expert on dental work examines what's left of the body, Quincy announces that the courier is dead. However, a short time later, the dead man's sister begins receiving odd phone calls that appear to be from the dead guy! But, his mother is anxious to close up the case and get the insurance money, and she pushes to have the case closed. Naturally, Quincy decides to play cop and investigate where the guy might be. But, it's important that they find the guy fast if he does exist, because he was hurt by the blast and sounded as if he's dying. Overall, a decent episode. While the plot is far from exciting, it is a major plus that Quincy is less angry than usual and he isn't on his soap box, so to speak. Worth seeing.
