Peter Wingfield joins the cast as the new doctor who has arrived in town.
Dr Robert Helm has his own experiences of the military and is no fan of Colonel Montoya.
Especially as Colonel Montoya is looking at ways to make men work harder and to their death at the local mines. He hopes Dr Helm could assist with some medicine that would make the men work through their tiredness.
When Teresa as the Queen of Swords gets injured. Montoya throws a party knowing no Spanish woman would miss it. He then gets Dr Helm to examine each woman for an injury, only for Teresa's maid to step in with a self inflicted wound.
So far this is again an updated Zorro. The maid coming to Teresa's assistance when she needs it. Some death defying stunts such as the Queen of Swords leaping from a cliff and later a mine explosion.
There is also some seeds of romance between Teresa and Dr Helm.
