It's 1957 and Sam leaps into 82 year-old Tyler Means, a one-time gunfighter who makes a living doing wild west re-enactments of what is reputedly his greatest achievement, cleaning up the town as a young man. His grandson Stevie thinks the world of Tyler and refuses to believe that his grandpa's exploits are just make believe. The boy has also taken a real interest in guns. Al tells Sam he has to get out of town because if he doesn't, Tyler will be killed. His old partner, Pat Knight, has returned bent on revenge. Knight claims he was the one who cleaned up the town, and Tyler has been living off another man's reputation. As high noon approaches, Sam has to find a way to convince Tyler's old partner to set their differences aside.
