The poor schmoe who was assigned the task of locating an authentic 1963 Barbie really had a tough task, since most of them were long ago decapitated by brothers or immured in collections. It looks like they could only find a slightly later Barbie, but were able to find or replicate the original black-and-white striped bathing suit.

Trouble here is the hair. The 1963 Barbie still had the standard pony-tail Barbie, and had just trotted out the updated "bubble-cut" (bouffant) hair. What is shown in this episode is neither -- it's a later, long-haired (Malibu?) Barbie. The bangs should have been pretty much kinky-curly, while the ponytail was perched higher, was wrapped in a lock of "hair", and was kinky-curly at the ends like the bangs.

I'm quite sure of this, because I was a 7-year-old Barbie fan in 1963. See more »

Bunny O'Hare: Are you sure the doctor said to give the baby coffee?
Dr. Sam Beckett: [as Buster] Oh, yeah. Uh-huh.
Bunny O'Hare: Well, hell, why don't we just give her a cigarette and a shot of whiskey while we're at it!
