Alice Hemmings visits Doreen and talks to her about the halfway house without telling her she is her mother. Karen pleads with Alice to reveal the truth; Alice refuses. Mum defends her daughter's right to reject her and Judy. Lorraine visits Judy but shows no interest in the baby. Karen also visits Doreen and tries to encourage her to come to the halfway house and rebuild her life. Roz suggests the women "send Latham (Bill Jackson's killer) to Coventry," that is give her the silent treatment, and it begins to have an effect. She burns the poem Doreen has written to welcome Mrs. Davidson back, provoking her into talking to her. Lorraine comes to see Mum and begins to make amends, confessing that seeing the baby softened her heart. She opens her home to all three of them. Written by jeaneva
