The attorneys of Donnell, Young, and Dole do a field trip to Los Angeles, California to defend a former acquaintance of Lindsay's, Ted Marcoux, who accused of murdering his girlfriend and facing the death penalty in the episodes "New Evidence" and "Hammerhead Sharks". These episodes were located in Los Angeles because they were set to air after the Superbowl. Since David E. Kelley did not want to seem biased to one team or the other they were set it in LA, where there is no professional football team. The action in the episode mostly centers around the Los Angeles County Superior Court House at the 444 Flower Building in Los Angeles. This is ironic since almost every episode of LA LAW takes place there also, (it's even in the credits.) David E. Kelley, the executive producer and creator of "The Practice", was also one of the producers on "L.A. Law". The "New Evidence" episode was the highest rated episode in the whole series. Having such a highly watched event as the Superbowl as the lead-in certainly helped.
Actor Anthony Heald appeared as two different characters on the show. In this episode and "Hammerhead Sharks" he played Judge Wallace Cooper while in "The Day After" he played Scott Guber.
L.A. Law was a television series where they were filming at 444 Building in Los Angeles, CA. Much more like the law firm of McKenzie, Brackman. Right now, Lindsay Dole, the new attorney is at the 444 Building with the Attorney Jacobs for his client Dennis Mills. This is a part 1 New Evidence and Part 2 Hammerhead Sharks on The Practice on ABC in the new year 2000 in the new millennium.
