Emotionally charged episode with a disappointing conclusion

Warning: Spoilers
I found myself pulling my hair out at the incompetence of Bobby's whole firm. When a husband has an affair and the lover turns up dead, the first suspect other than the husband should be his spouse. It was obvious to me in the micro-expressions of the wife that she was responsible for the murder. Her whole demeanor seemed off during the course of the trial. Being the wife of a surgeon, she would probably have watched him perform surgery a time or two, he more than likely would have talked shop to her a few times when discussing his day, and he very likely would have kept technical books around their home about surgery and surgical procedures. She would have had access to knowledge on surgical procedures as well as his records of the Poetry killer's victim that was brought to his hospital. It bothered me that not one lawyer thought to suspect the wife of foul play when she would have the motive and the means. The crime itself didn't strike me as a crime of passion which is what typically happens between lovers engaged in an affair. If he had killed her, he wouldn't have cut off her head and hands. This is someone this man had a passionate affair with for two years. The circumstances of the crime scream anger, fury, or rage. Emotions that a spurned wife who learned her husband was having an affair might be more prone to displaying. I was screaming at my TV that the wife did it for almost the entire length of the episode. When we see her with that smile after the verdict is read, I knew in that moment that I was right with absolute certainty. I was disappointed that it ended like this and am hoping that this case is revisited in a later episode where new evidence is brought to light. For now, I take comfort knowing that I am a better judge of character and possibly a better lawyer than the members of Donnell's firm.

Awesome Episode

I really think the wife did it, i mean look at her face after the verdict was read. She was so pleased like a criminal mastermind whose plan was to kill the "bitch" who had an affair with her husband and then frame the untruthful husband for the murder.

Concerning the statement of the D.A. at the house with the policeman and the wife. As i understand she only needed the info of the car in the Vicinity of the crime so she could order the search warrant for the house, i think someone saw the car and she needed the more than that so she asked the wife if the car really was there.

I really liked the closing statements although i must say Robert wasn't all up on his game. He didn't made it clear that almost no other suspects were investigated. I ended up believing the D.A.s statement, because of the reaction after seeing the crime scene. The Husband should have easily connected that this killing is of the poet and he wouldn't be implicated.

What about the Dr.'s wife?
rb_rggs11 March 2009
Did'nt the DA (Helen) show up at the Dr.'s house to speak with his wife in the episode before this one and say that people had seen her (the wife) leaving the crime scene. I believe she (the DA) even had a newspaper with the Dr.'s wife picture on it that the eyewitnesses had used to point her out. Now with that being said, how much was the DA (Helen) paid to keep that out of the courtroom so that the Dr. was convicted instead of the disgruntled wife? Should I just wait and maybe it will be brought back up later? Or will somebody please come forward with this new evidence? This is just a hunch but the wife did not look a bit distraught when the man she loved even though he had an extramarital relationship got convicted of murder in the 1st degree.

Warning: Spoilers
Maybe the wife did it. That look on her face was telling, but remember that he went after her in the law office. He had the affair for a long time. He showed no respect for her feelings at all. Maybe that look was satisfaction. Also, the one expert talked about the surgical use of the knife. The wife was not a surgeon. All that aside, it was great to see that the firm gets a million dollars (or more) and Bobby gets the smug look wiped off his face. Helen is a cold fish, but she is honorable. We've seen time and time again Bobby and his partners unethical (though legal) things. It will be interesting to see where this goes next.
