Shell Game

Warning do not read unless seen episode.

This is pretty much part 3 in the Psycho Rangers arc and it's definitely one of the best volumes. One is out of the picture which leaves four which is still too many.

I really like this strategy that T.J. has which was to switch partners, which makes sense as each psycho is accustomed to the moves of their assigned counterparts. We see at first the strategy works for a while as each of the Rangers are fighting different counterparts. But then unfortunately the Psychos see though the strategy and quickly take home court advantage.

It was a bit disheartening because for a while it seemed like the Rangers were on the right track, where the heck did they go wrong. But T.J. figures it out when the playback video conveniently loses the color, which I find kinda strange how highly advanced tech would run into reception problems but oh well I'll roll with it. Anyway, we see T.J. had the right idea but the execution was incorrect, he realizes that in order to beat Psycho Blue and possibly the rest they have to change their colors to blue. In a strange way this episode is a bit prolific on a story in the "Power Rangers" comic series where the team all become Green Rangers, but that of course is another story.

I really like the battle near the end when we see each of the Rangers in blue. Their pretty much playing the Shell Game with the psychos as each of their are constantly confused and fooled into thinking one could be the other. But then another player in the game enters which I'll admit came completely out of left field; we see a psycho Silver Ranger.

I remember seeing that thinking the Rangers could be in deep crap now, not just are the odds even again but it's a Psycho Silver Ranger which makes him even more powerful; so yeah the Rangers really got their work cut out for them. And we see Silver is moping the floor with the Rangers, this of course leads to jealousy among the Psychos and cause them to fight Psycho Silver. Psycho Blue is so obsessed with killing Blue Ranger he decides to take them all on himself and tells the fellow psychos to retreat, which they unsurprisingly do just to see him get wasted, they are psychos after all they have no friends.

But we then get another surprise as we see there never was a Psycho Silver ranger that it really was just a ruse to fool them and bait Psycho Blue making him bite more than he can chew; so lets just say in the end the Rangers have made Psycho Blue turn blue.

Two Down, three to go.
