Storyline

Bob Crane plays a freewheeling disk jockey with a chat-show atmosphere in his studio (which he had in real life). The disk jockey's wife is found fatally shot with his gun, and the DJ himself is the prime suspect, since he knew of her affair with another man. The audience saw the dead woman and her lover wrestling over the gun and a shot being fired, but the film editor took a few extra frames off the film immediately after the shot being fired -- a crucial plot point later on when the cornered lover claims the bullet went wild and didn't hit anybody. So if the struggle didn't result in the wife's killing ... what did? An eerie precursor to the scandal that arose over Bob Crane's sex-crazed life which most people believe led to his murder (depicted in the movie "Auto Focus," with Greg Kinnear as Crane). Features a high-octane powerboat chase in Los Angeles Harbor ending in a spectacular crash. Written by Peter Harris
