Routine urban police work

I just started watching this long crime TV series adapted from Joseph Wambaugh's stories. The author from whom was made Dick Fleischer's THE NEW CENTURIONS and I guess Bob Aldrich's CHOIRBOYS - although I am not absolutely sure; anyway it really looks like . The usual daily routine, daily police force proceedings in the city of LA. The every day different affairs they have to deal with. One way to show audiences how people live in LA, a sort of social eye of today's - actually seventies

  • world in big cities. This series also focuses on policemen private

lives, own problems, hopes, dreams. They are all showed them as human beings, with their families, and not only enforcers. I don't know yet if we find recurrent characters all long this 94 épisodes TV show.

This episode is very enjoyable to me, directed by Barry Shear, a vet TV director who gave us ACROSS 110TH STREET and DEADLY TRACKERS for the big screen. Some effective action scenes, car and pedestrian chases across the streets. If you watch closely, there is no real main intrigue in this story, beside routine police work, with some light comedy lines.
