During it's run, "Police Story" was the best cop show on television...much of it is because it was created by an ex-cop and focused on realism. Very, very few episodes were anything but great and "Headhunter" is no exception.
The story begins with a report that a guy is drunk and exposing himself. It turns out the drunk is a cop...though whether or not he was exposing himself isn't 100% sure...but two witnesses say they saw it. Soon the cop is off the force but the Internal Affairs officer who investigated the case doesn't want to drop it....as it just doesn't feel right.
Most TV shows only show Internal Affairs cops as humorless and nasty...at best! This time, however, they seem human and are just doing their jobs...and are less cartoony and much more realistic. This is a big plus as is the writing overall. Well worth seeing.
By the way, actor James Luisi played a real annoying cop on "The Rockford Files" and it's interesting here to see him playing a nice guy...a cop who is a bit of a softy.
