The plan goes horribly wrong when he is introduced to Miriam's new boyfriend, a retired stockbroker from out of town. Wambaugh then finds out that most of his friends already new about the the relationship but were unwilling to inform him in order to spare his feelings from being hurt. He then develops a theory that the suitor is up to no good, so he launches his own investigation, seeking the assistance of Kenny, Kimberly and Carter.
