Mind Your Own Business
Hitchcoc23 May 2022
The social issue du jour is the rights of gay people. When the mayor passes her newborn off to her brother, who happens to be gay, it gets good old Rome up in arms--again. Vicious attacks from the pulpit. Physical attacks from the citizenry. The Brock kid throws around the word "faggot" like he owns it. He does it several times and gets a modest reprimand. He is really becoming sickening. The high point is when Louise Fletcher, who has betrayed her children, tries to take custody and Wambaugh goes after her. Finally, TV went against the grain on this topic. Good job.

A great episode from a great show

What a great episode from a great show! To think how taboo these gay topics were and how relevant this still is. This was so well written. Louise Fletcher is great as Marlee Matlin's narrow minded mother. NYPD Blue's Bill Brotchup is great as the brother's boyfriend and father of the child who's custody was in question. This show deserved more than four seasons. I don't know how anyone could think differently. And those who can only misinterpret scripture have a backwards way of thinking and totally miss the point.
