Storyline

Perry Mason defends Margaret Foster, the wife of State Senatorial candidate Jason Foster, who is charged with murdering David Cartwell, stepson of incumbent Senator Randolph Cartwell. A few days prior to the killing, Jason Foster learned that his underage sister, Susan, was out drinking with David Cartwell. In a confrontation with Susan, she let it be known she plans to marry David but Jason tells her to stay away from him and that he will tell David to leave her alone. At this point, he confronts Perry about the issue. However, Susan visits David at his home, anyway. Margaret had gone to see David but found him dead. She grabbed the gun, recognizing it is Jason's, and ran, obviously trying to protect her husband or her sister-in-law. David was in debt to gamblers and had written a bad check in Las Vegas for $6,000 and Harry Mardig was there to collect the debt. A quick trip to Vegas eventually leads Perry and his private investigator, Paul, to the killer. Written by garykmcd

Jan Never Looked Better
29 December 2014 | by See all my reviews

Jan Shepard is one of my favorite "Perry Mason Ladies". In this episode she looks even more beautiful and shaplier than ever. She sports a spiffy hairstyle but might have slimmed down a little because she is very curvy and fit looking. All her appearances are great but I love her look in this episode. She was one of those late 50s/early 60s actresses that worked regularly, but never caught on in a big way. I also loved Lisa Gaye, Julie Adams, Alison Hayes and of course,Barbara Hale herself. I remember Jan in the cult classic "The Giant Leeches". She looked cute but not as sexy as in her Mason appearances. The Mason series is a great place for girl watchers who love the late 50s/early 60s type girl.
