The Russian Connection
27 February 2012 | by (Los Angeles) – See all my reviews

As part of a school assignment to write letters to various government officials, Patty (Patty Duke) receives a reply from a Russian politician. This prompts a visit to the Lane family by US State Department official Mike Road (as Harold Raney). He wants to monitor the communication for national security reasons (at the time, Russia was under Soviet control). Patty wants to show-off to snooty Kathy Garver (as Monica) and her school-mates, but must keep mum about the details concerning her exciting correspondence. Seeking to prove her Russian connection, Patty gets Ross (Paul O'Keefe) to help her tape a conversation. The early scenes feature a technologically good look at Patty and cousin Cathy (also Patty Duke).
