Second lead vocal for Shirley Jones

"The Forty-Year Itch" reunited Ray Bolger and Rosemary De Camp as Shirley's parents (previously seen in "Whatever Happened to the Old Songs?"), who have mutually decided to split up, Fred still determined to maintain his youth, Amanda still preferring he act his age. Fred shows up on his daughter's doorstep dressed as a backpacking boy scout, hitchhiking his way up to Big Sur, Amanda close behind. Shirley decides to plan a night out to bring them together again, singing Jerry Herman's "My Best Girl" (this version unissued), which came from the 1966 Broadway musical "Mame," starring Angela Lansbury and Beatrice Arthur. There is another reprise of the Shorty Rogers-Kelly Gordon tune "Together," so prominently featured in the debut episode, plus an equally brief "I'm on My Way Back Home," composed by Jack Keller and Bobby Hart, from the LP SOUND MAGAZINE (fully heard in "Days of Acne and Roses" and "Hel-l-l-p"). The 67 year old Ray Bolger still demonstrates his rubber legged 'Scarecrow' moves from "The Wizard of Oz," and we get our first look at the Partridge basement). Ray and Rosemary would return a third time in "The Modfather," while Rosemary would co-star with Jackie Coogan (replacing Bolger) in "Maid in San Pueblo."
