Storyline

What starts off innocently enough (A parent/student project) unravels many of the students at Santo Domingo's relationships with their parents. Parker deals with his over-thinking father, Jerry and his father could probably create cold fusion with their brain power, and Mikey's rocky home life comes out. A parent / student project seems innocent enough...
16 June 2007 | by (San Diego, CA) – See all my reviews

This episode really gets season 2 rolling. It's funny as the students all get a parent / student project to create a device that toasts bread using only the items provided. Everyone's true intentions shine as they're forced to deal with their parents. The outcomes are drastically different and the process to create these inventions brings some relationships closer while others are blown apart. The main conflict is between Mikey and his lack of parents to help him for his project. Mikey in my opinion isn't the most believable whenever he has his 'emotional' episodes and this is one of those episodes. So as for drawbacks that's probably the one for this episode as most all of the Mikey scenes are of him sulking. Things are likely to resolve though as the judging takes place at the end...
