Dr. James Houghton and Dr. Charles McCamber have developed a technique to reanimate cryogenically preserved bodies. They know from their experiments with animals that the revival will last a couple of days at best. Their first success with a human, Oscar Reynolds, struggles and indicates he would have preferred to have been left dead. Houghton is fanatical however and takes extraordinary measures to keep Reynolds alive. After Houghton is shot dead by a mugger in the parking lot, McCamber re-animates him. Knowing he only has a short time available to him, Houghton decides to spend time with his family. When he sees his killer on the street he kills him but not before McCamber has some shocking news for him. Written by

When Oscar goes into cardiac arrest after being revived, he is stabilized by injecting lidocaine into his heart. Lidocaine (or any other medicine, for that matter), is never injected into the heart because it would cause massive complications, like tearing of the heart muscle. First-line cardiac drugs (according to the Advanced Cardiac Life Support guidelines) are always administered through an already established IV line. See more
