After securing some overpriced office space, Tracy and Charlotte prepare to hire a chief financial officer at trustmom.com. However, after disagreeing over who gets the one private office, they discover that Lloyd has already hired someone to oversee their new firm's finances. And once Nikky claims the sole private office space as her own, Tracy and Charlotte return to Magnitude in hopes to woo away its legendary computer engineer, Brent Carlson. Upon learning just how much power Nikky actually wields, Tracy turns to Brad in her effort to land Brent. But before he'll help solve their engineering problems, Brad presses Tracy to hire him, too. Following a difficult interview, Tracy spends far too much in order to hire Brent, while Brad's need for a new job becomes even more acute after he's fired. In the wake of hiring Brent, Tracy and Charlotte soon find his erratic work habits posing a problem for them. However, things get even more complicated once Nikky and Brent start up an inter-office affair. Despite Charlotte and Tracy's keen disapproval, Nikky insists that her sexual relationship with Brent won't pose a problem. But when they threaten to tell Lloyd, the women convince Nikky to allow them to hire Brad as well as treat them with more respect.
