Big Problems in a Small Town
JordanThomasHall21 February 2018
Peter (Michael Callan) informs his boss Mr. Brahms (Jack Collins) that he is accepting another, higher-paying job at the small Barnaby Food Company. He further states he and Greta (Patricia Harty) are separating. When Mr. Brahms refuses to accept his resignation, an argument ensues where he tells Peter that he's fired. When he tells Greta, another argument takes place in which he tells Greta that she is fired. He leaves for the small town of Barnaby. His new boss Mr. Barnaby (character actor Robert Emhardt) says he always researches the background of his employees and requests a dinner date with Peter's wife. Peter returns to New York to woo Greta back into his occasional wife role. She refuses and Peter hires a new occasional wife named Sally (Kathryn Reynolds) to play the part in Barnaby. Greta is angry that Peter has disconnected her utilities and leaves for the small town. Greta first meets Mrs. Barnaby (Sylvia Field, "Dennis the Menace") who walks her to the dinner table where Mr. Barnaby has left to dance with the other occasional wife. Peter must shuffle to keep the two parties separated from one another, which hilariously keeps switching the drink order for the waiter (Charmin man Dick Wilson).

This episode is a nice change of pace with some fine comedy from Dick Wilson.
