As watching this episode on the french channel M6, in french version, I've found a really big mistake in it.
As Numb3rs is a math base series it's very incredible that they don't know how to convert m² in km².
When calculating the surface of the possible irradiated area, the scientist said that the dirty bomb will affect 26,000 m² ( in the french version), and his brother conclude that the bomb will affect 25 and 30 km².
Or with a very little math knowledge, we know that 26,000 m² is equal to 0.026 km² and not 26 km².
Forntunately it's only a series.
