- Three college friends drown in a lake and discover that they can still live as long as no one learns of their death. / Who keeps moving Mary's things and making noises in her house? Is someone invading her home, or is it all in her mind?
- Three students, Devin, his girlfriend Bethany and their best friend Seth are having a relaxed philosophical discussion on their way home to campus. Devin can't except the other two's suggestion that the Big Bang was not God's work. Suddenly, their car hits a bump, goes of a cliff and falls into a lake. The three reach the shore only to realize that their dead bodies are still in the car. At first they are dumbfounded, but Seth and Bethany eventually conclude that this may be a bizarre example of the notorious philosophical question: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" In other words, as long as no one knows they died, they will still exist and "live". They return to campus and try to adapt to their extraordinary situation, but religious Davin can't help but feel that they might be making a mistake and that cheating death may have harsher repercussions than death itself. Tension begins to grow between the three. Devin eventually learns that if God does exit, he is prone to irony.
- Mary is a divorcee who's not taking her living alone well. However, when someone starts breaking into her house and moving things around, she becomes almost paranoid and the cops don't believe her. Is she losing her mind, or is someone truly living in her house when she's not in? An overtly friendly stranger she meets in a bar could be a possible suspect.
- After their car crashes off an embankment, killing them, three college students race to bury their bodies, theorizing that since no one saw them die, they are not really dead, as long as no one finds out about the crash or sees their bodies. One of them, a religious believer named Devin, can't accept the miracle of their rebirth. After almost blurting out the secret in confession and endangering their existence, he decides to end it for himself by going back to the lake and freeing his body from the wreck. He only manages to accidentally free the corpses of the other two, which are found by a fisherman. As he looks on in horror his friends disappear as his own body goes down forever in the car, leaving him to carry on by himself.
