The episode's title is from Shakespeare's MacBeth. After murdering Duncan, MacBeth hears a voice that says, "Sleep no more!" MacBeth's guilty conscience does not allow him to sleep. Similarly, Dan is unable to sleep after embezzling money from the Phil Foundation. After ordering his murder, MacBeth sees the ghost of Banquo at a banquet and suffers an emotional breakdown. Dan similarly breaks down after seeing Phil's ghost at a banquet.
The title is a line from the famous 'to be or not to be" soliloquy from Willam Shakespeare's Hamlet (act 3, scene 1).
Seventh and final appearance of Jack Riley.
Richard Moll would grow his hair out each year after filming ended. He stated in several interviews that he was often mistaken for John Larroquette.
