In terms of story arcs, this is considered the final episode of the series. The subsequent episode actually fits in a few episodes before.
When Richard Moll was interviewed by the TMZ show in 2016, he was asked if he would ever do a "Night Court" reunion and promptly said he wouldn't; when asked why, Moll said with a broad laugh "I love show business, but I can't stand the people in it!"
Phil Leeds and Ralph Manza reprise their roles as Norm (Leeds) and Angelo (Manza), from when they previously appeared in the episode "Day Court" (S8E8), as the two gentleman who were in the courtroom, witnessing over 10,000 cases during a twenty year span.
The title is based on the old proverb: Opportunity knocks but once.
Final appearance of Mike Finneran as Art Fensterman.
