This episode was originally recorded with Shelley Hack as the new public defender, intended as the replacement for the first season's Paula Kelly. However, she was fired, Markie Post was brought in and the episode was rerecorded. As Post was at that time committed to The Fall Guy (1981), Ellen Foley took the role for the rest of the season.
