Michael goes away for a time and asks Stephanie to look after his place. While she and Joanna are there, Stephanie finds his diary. Michael is brutally honest, even attacking "Cupcake." The diary ends up at the Stratford and there are ugly things said about Dick and Joanna. Dick tries to ignore but really gets in the middle of it. Funniest is George who is never mentioned. He is offended by this--being invisible, so to speak. This is accentuated several times in the episode. The gang have to evaluate their behavior. There is a subplot where a tall, nerdy guy has come to experience nature. Unfortunately, a series of nasty things come to him and he can barely walk out of the inn at the end. Oh, one of the guys Michael interviewed for Dick's show was a man who did shadow puppets of Vice Presidents.

While Michael is away, Stephanie finds his diary and reads it, finding some unflattering comments about her and the Loudons.
A pretty good episode. Michael tries his best to work things out with everyone, even George who Michael does not even mention in the diary, George is insulted by that. Everyone insults Michael except Dick, after some prodding he calls Michael shallow, which is the only insult Michael is hurt by. There is also a funny subplot about a guest who wants to be one with nature, but ends up with bee stings, poison oak and an encounter with a skunk.
