Construction workers in Florida accidentally discover USNavy petty officer Carolyn Figgis's mummified corps in an underground bunker, chained-up and dressed in a 1952 bridal gown, which she wore months before her death. She was missing over a year. NCIS guesses right it's the work of a psycho who recreates the fifties, as his ideal of male-female report, and must be trying again with another victim, who needs to be found before he kills her too. A beetle suggests he was in Virginia, but McGee finds there's a likely victim, reported missing since months from Jacksonville: flirtatious petty officer Barbara Swain, last seen by her roommate, petty officer Debra Marshall; sour-faced local NCIS agent Jane Melankovic joins the investigation. Looking for her dates, they stumble onto a surprising suspect, who fits the mysterious purple silk found on the mummy, actually an impostor, but he commits suicide, leaving only photographic mementos as clue... Did You Know?
When they interview P.O. Debra Marshall, she is wearing a ball cap that reads "U.S. Navy". This ball cap is sold in the Navy Exchanges in the Navy Pride section and is not an authorized uniform component per Uniform Regulations. She would wear either the official ball cap of NAS Jacksonville or a cap that reads NAVY in 1-1/4 inch gold block letters. See more
