Storyline

A Marine recruiter in Washington, DC, while sitting in his office and talking with two prospects, takes a single round to the chest from a high-power rifle, falls forward, and dies; Gibbs and the gang investigate. While one suspect is in custody, a second Marine recruiter dies the same way in Maryland; FBI agents precipitate a departmental turf war, but the NCIS team outfox the Hoovers. The Gibbs group expect another murder, so they set a trap, and it works; the shooter squeezes off a third round, and then Tony and several FBI agents capture him. Kate, while impersonating a commissioned officer, has trouble with her gourd cover. Written by DocRushing

Goofs

When Gunnery Sergeant Alvarez is speaking with the potential recruits, he states "Truth is, most Marines don't see combat. I mean, look at me. Been in the Corps sixteen years, closest I've ever come to a bullet is....". Yet he is wearing the Combat Action Ribbon, for which the principal eligibility criterion is that the individual must have participated in a bona fide ground or surface combat fire fight or action during which he was under enemy fire and his performance while under fire was satisfactory. Though this may be interpreted as one of his 'acts' to meet quota by implying that if you choose the right path in the Marines, you'll never be in danger. See more »

Quotes

Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: [as he finishes setting up the sensors] You know if this works, Abs, you're a genius.
Abby Sciuto: Oh Tony, tell me something I *don't* know.
Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: I once dated my high school music teacher.
Abby Sciuto: Really? What was his name?
Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: [fake chuckle] Cute.
