Storyline

A security guard finds the disemboweled body of an NCIS special agent, Chris Pacci, in an elevator; the Metro PD calls the NCIS to take the lead. Gibbs and the gang investigate; Gibbs feels much personal responsibility, for he had deferred giving the agent some help he had sought with a cold case (one involving a theft of more than $12M from the Navy). Ducky says that the killer first shot the victim in the neck and then cut him open inside the elevator. Co-workers shows irritability due to the involvement and the relationships, but they pick up where Chris left off; Tony uses a new technique for personal surveillance, and he gets a surprise. The gang find the thief and the killer. Written by DocRushing

Trivia

Special Agent Gibbs drops the title of the episode, (i.e. Dead Man Talking) after Ducky discovers a memory card in the body of Special Agent Pacci during the autopsy. See more »

Goofs

When Abby IDs the .357 magnum bullet that killed Agent Pacci via its ballistics, she rather improbably manages to narrow it down to the Smith & Wesson Model 66 revolver, to which Gibbs quips that it is small and 'easily concealable', however the Model 66 is a larger framed 357 magnum revolver and not considered a 'small handgun'. Interesting enough, the image flashed on the screen is the smaller framed S&W Model 60 (which IS small and easily concealable). See more »

User Reviews

biased, discriminatory, rude

As a trans-woman I cannot overlook how trans-people are depicted here. We learn that Lt. Cmd Voss lives as a woman for three years, takes hormones (we see her in a bra and taking pills) and plans a sex reassignment surgery. No motive is presented for her faked death but the desire to start a new life. No one would undergo such efforts nor pass the necessary psychological tests without really being a woman. Despite that, the whole team speaks of her as "he" and makes a mock of her and of DiNozzo being attracted by her. To me and I believe every trans-person this is deeply offensive. I cannot understand an author who in 2005 writes such insensitive and discriminatory bullshit.
