Maxwell and Fran will soon be celebrating their first wedding anniversary, yet without Fran having given birth. Fran is a little anxious and a lot uncomfortable. To get her mind off the pregnancy, Fran decides to plan an anniversary party. There, the romantic mood makes Niles propose to C.C. yet again. This time, C.C. does not turn him down, but she runs off without giving him an answer. Fran runs after C.C. to find out what's on her mind. Catching up to her in the elevator, C.C. admits to Fran that she doesn't understand why Niles wants to marry her. Quickly thereafter, the two get stuck in the malfunctioning elevator, followed by Fran going into labor. Their time in captivity is spent by Fran trying to talk C.C. into marrying Niles, punctuated by screams of labor pains. When they find out about Fran and C.C., Maxwell, the kids and Niles - with the elevator repairman in tow - rush off to save their loved ones. At the closed elevator door, C.C. gives Niles her answer.
